A curved deck is the starring feature of this garden, taking the visitor on a menadering journey through the garden over water and to a quite, private seating area.
A curved path like this one takes the focus away from the boundary walls an redirects the eye around the garden. The pergola, hidden among the planting, is a nod to a subtle Japanese theme going on. There is an interesting mix of plants with lots of leafy plants to create a sense of lushness but with lots of flowering colour.
While the garden looks good from the house
It looks just as good looking back towards the house. A typical suburban garden space has been transformed from sad to stylish with some clever design, natural materials and lots of lush leafy planting. This is not necessarily a low mainteance garden but what the heck, I love it!
Part of the client's brief for this garden was she want to walk over (not on) water.
So we created deck path continue around the lawn, through a pergola and over a babbling brook. There is a small japense style stone piece with will eventually just be glimpsed through the planting once they have grown.
The path continues on. There are plenty of little stop off points of interest.
The path passes over the stream and onto a private seating area. The seating area is hidden from view from the house - a perfect spot a covert glass of wine or quiet cup of coffee away from the maddening crowd.
But it wasn't always like this. This how the garden looked before.
